Japanese: Agedashi Tofu

Ingredients:

Procedure:

  1. Make the sauce: combine dashi powder, water, mirin, soy sauce, stir well
  2. Warm fried tofu in microwave for about 1-2 minutes
  3. Transfer tofu to serving bowls
  4. Pour some sauce over tofu
  5. Sprinkle ginger and scallions on top
  6. Garnish with bonito flakes

*Optional: You can fry your own tofu in oil (coconut or canola preferred). Drain a block of firm tofu in a colander for 30 minutes, then cut into 12 pieces. Dust with cornstarch, then deep fry until light brown (about 2 minutes, turning once). Drain on paper towels before serving.
